Review of Merry Tweenie Christmas
Introduction
Ah, Christmas time...a time for goodwill to all men, Santa Claus, turkey and...Tweenies! Or so the BBC would have us believe. The Tweenies is one of the Beeb`s better children`s shows this year, and judging from the DVD releases, a commerical success too.
Video
The pictue is anamorhpic widescreen suprisingly, and is also quite good for a TV show. There is still grain showing up and a few compression artifacts, but generally more than satisfactory.
Audio
Just a stereo mix, which delivers the dialogue clearly. Don`t expect those big LFE`s...
Features
No extras, except for fabulous chapter selections and animated menus. Damn, I was really hoping for a director`s commentary, behind-the-scenes featurette and a few multiple angle options.
Conclusion
As far as I can tell, this was specially filmed for this video/DVD release, and is more of the same as what you would find on the TV, just more Christmas-orientated. If you can stand the relentlessly sugary songs and the irritating voices, this would make a good buy for any kids of yours. If on the other hand, this is your OWN Christmas present, you should probably seek some help...
