The hilarious laugh-out-loud BABY MAMA stars comedy geniuses Tina Fey (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) and Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) who team up to celebrate motherhood with a modern and quirky twist. With an amazing supporting cast including comedy legend Steve Martin (Cheaper By The Dozen, Bringing Down The House, The Pink Panther), and written and directed by Michael McCullers (Austin Powers-The Spy Who Shagged Me), BABY MAMA is a feel-good must see comedy hit that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of quality comic entertainment from start to finish.
Kate Holbrooke (Fey) has her life in order: a job she loves, a guru boss (Martin) who adores her, a beautiful apartment and financial security. But having put her personal life on the back burner whilst she concentrates on her career - Kate suddenly realises she may have missed out on the biggest opportunity of her life - motherhood. Now 37 and with her biological clock loudly ticking, she's determined to have a kid on her own. But her plan is thrown a curve ball after she discovers she has only a million-to-one chance of getting pregnant. Undaunted Kate recruits South Philly working girl Angie Ostrowiski (Poehler) to become her surrogate.
After learning from the steely head of their surrogacy center, Chaffee Bicknell (Sigourney Weaver) that Angie is pregnant, Kate goes into precision nesting mode: reading childcare books, baby-proofing the apartment and researching top pre-schools. But the executive's well-organized strategy is turned upside down when her 'BABY MAMA' shows up at her doorstep with no place to live and no intention of sticking to Kate's perfect pregnancy plan. An unstoppable force meets an immovable object as structured and highly organised Kate tries to mould the vibrant spontaneous Angie into the perfect expectant surrogate mum.
In a battle of wills, as the women struggle their way towards the baby's imminent arrival Kate and Angie discover there are two kinds of family: the one you're born to and the one you make. With hilarious performances from an all-star supporting cast including Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine), Dax Shepard (Employee of the Month), and Sigourney Weaver (Heartbreakers), Baby Mama is full of laughs and feel-good fun, with outstanding performances from an excellent comic cast. BABY MAMA is definitely one not to be missed as it hits DVD and BLU-RAY on MONDAY 16TH MARCH 2009.
