Do you or fate control your life?

How often do we put the events in our life down to fate; we were destined to meet, I was meant to get that job? How often do we read our horoscopes searching for the details of our future; today you will meet the man of your dreams; tomorrow you will finally make your fortune? But should fate be taking all the credit, or blame for everything in our lives or is it free will, our own choice, however influenced by our surroundings, which govern our actions?

A Sealed Fate is a debut novel by Astrologer Lisa Gordon who poses at the centre of her story, the question of fate versus free will.

To escape the pain of failed relationships and careers, both Valda and Larissa take themselves to Dubai seeking not only success but a reason and purpose in life. Valda does indeed find success and to her astonishment, love, but all is threatened when she is introduced to a billionaire Sheikh. Her clandestine relationship with the Sheikh propels her into a murky web of deceit and she turns to Larissa for help.

As an astrologer, Larissa predicts that Valda and the Shikh's destinies were sealed from the moment of their first meeting: however she keeps the dire fate that she reads in the charts a secret. Together, Valda and Larissa take a gamble in a game of cosmic Russian Roulette where the stakes are their lives and their adversary, fate itself.

Spiritual in its theme, this debut thriller also looks at the depth of personal relationships and the lengths two women would go to, to protect each other.

Lisa Gordon has written an article entitled A Game Of Chance, 2441 words, which is available for free publication.

A Sealed Fate is published by Janus Publishing Company Ltd. www.januspublishing.co.uk and is available at £8.95 in major bookshops and online retailers across the country. ISBN 978-1- 85756-645-3

It gives me pleasure to give this book 10 stars! I HIGHLY recommend you add this book to your list of spring/summer reading. What a page turner..it will keep you on your toes and trust me, it is hard to put it down. I finally finished reading it at 4 in the morning!! I was exhausted the next day but it was worthwhile. Lisa Gordon has truly made her mark with this brilliant first thriller that keeps you guessing and makes you ponder your own fate. She writes with an eloquence and passion that you rarely see in such a young writer. The descriptions of the locations will transport you to a whole different world..without even leaving your chair! The characters are relateable, and you cannot help but become intertwined in their hopes and dreams. I know I did. I really hope we see more more from this brilliant and talented writer. It's safe to say, I am a huge fan!!

People often sneer at anyone who has an interest in the stars and what effect when and where we were born has on our lives , but often things seem to happen which can bear out the fact that there are  other other factors which influence our destiny ...that's why I enjoyed the book - as it acknowledges the spirtual or esoteric side of life.....a good pacey read, with more to offer than an ordinary thriller.  Lisa has what it takes to blend the mystery of the stars with a gripping story  written with passion and feeling .... amazing talent for a relatively young author -  Thanks Lisa - I am a fan ..no doubt about it

I love this book and gave it 10 out of 10! One of the reasons I rated this book so highly was due to it's originality - it was an extremely intriguing read. This is not your standard thriller and I was kept guessing until the last page and beyond. The author evokes very strong images of the Dubai scenery and culture and her characterisation is very powerful. The characters are unique and although not conventional have many aspects to them which I related to. Valda's motivations appear to be material and are fuelled by her love of risk; Lara's motivations seem to be spiritual, which is a rather unusual perspective. It is a compelling story and page-turning read, which gets you thinking. The dialogue is full of verve and is particularly well formulated. As the thriller gathers pace a romantic sub-plot provides an interesting contrast and you find yourself caught up in the hopes and fears of the characters.  I really was left wanting more!  Well done Lisa - a great book!!
