"MND Scotland is an awesome charity providing suffers and their families with resources that are sorely needed" said Andrew Gordon, Director AMP3. "When my Aunt was diagnosed with this disease, there was no other thought in my mind other than "What can I do?" Working in conjunction with our supplier XMI, a new Singaporean travel speaker company, we have created the MND Scotland edition of the speaker. Despite being thousands of miles away from Scotland, XMI have kindly donated 300 units of their awesome X-Mini II speakers, to be sold for the cause! I was incredibly touched by this generosity."
AMP3 will also be donating all proceeds from their annual charity trackday at Knockhill Circuit on the 4th of September to MND Scotland. If you would like to make a donation, you can visit the Just Giving page:

AMP3 hope to raise £20000 from the Charity Trackday and sale of the MND Scotland speakers.
Motor Neurone Disease stops the nerve cells that control the body's movement from sending messages to muscles. As the nerve cells die, the person with the disease loses the ability to move. MND is often rapid and always fatal. There is currently no known cure.
As the disease progresses, the person will lose their ability to walk, talk and feed themselves, although their intellect usually remains unaffected. They will eventually lose the ability to breathe unaided. The average life expectancy is just 14 months of hearing their diagnosis. There are currently 347 people living in Scotland with MND, and more than 130 people will be diagnosed this year.
MND Scotland is the only charity that provides care and support for people living with MND and their carers, while also promoting and funding research to bring about an end of the disease. Everyone with MND in Scotland receives direct care from one of a team of Care Specialists who also ensure that our range of information and support services can be accessed as soon as possible after diagnosis and throughout the progression of the disease.
MND Scotland provide direct support to people with MND and their families, through loan of specialist equipment such as electronic communication aids for people who can no longer speak, financial support, information, advice, and professional counselling for people affected by MND and relatives bereaved by the loss of someone to MND. They also work to educate the health and social care professionals involved in caring for people with MND, providing them with training and information, and to influence budget holders and planners within NHS and social care to ensure they provide care services that meet the complex and rapidly changing needs of people with the disease. We campaign at national level and work with politicians and policy makers to raise the profile of MND and ensure people with the disease and their carers are not forgotten in health and research policy and legislation. MND Scotland also funds and promotes research to bring about an end to the disease.
Their services will cost more than £750,000 this year, meaning we need to raise almost £13,500 every week. MND Scotland relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising to deliver these essential services.
