iPi Soft Releases Version 1.0 of Markerless Motion Capture Software
Markerless motion capture technology that literally puts motion capture at animator's desktop. Record a video right at your workplace using a webcam or inexpensive digital camera and have it converted to 3D animation on your PC.
iPi Soft LLC, creator of innovative markerless motion capture technology, announces commercial availability of version 1.0 of iPi Desktop Motion Capture software.
iPi Desktop Motion Capture technology is accurate, easy to use and affordable. Captured animations do not exhibit artifacts like jitter or foot skate, with overall animation quality being comparable to expensive traditional marker-based mocap systems. Actors are not required to wear special suits with reflective markers. Instead of tracking markers, the system uses sophisticated image processing and computer vision algorithms to recognize and track the human body. As the result, actors can wear casual closes such as jeans and t-shirts. This greatly simplifies setup and saves time on-set. The system is designed for use with 3 or 4 inexpensive cameras, for example webcams or, more preferably, Sony PlayStation 3 Eye cameras. The system can be operated by just one person. A great time saver. Captured animations can easily be exported to popular formats like BVH and COLLADA. With integrated motion transfer, animations can instantly be re-targeted to custom rigs and skeletons. The system also supports popular rigs like 3D MAX Biped, iClone and Poser out of the box.
iPi Desktop Motion Capture software comes with an attractive price tag of $995 for Basic version. A 30 days Free Trial can be downloaded from developer's website www.ipisoft.com.
iPi Soft will be exhibiting at SIGGRAPH 2010, booth #1219 from July 27-29 in Los Angeles. Visitors to iPi Soft's public booth can experience a hands-on demonstration of the iPi Desktop Motion Capture software and accessories.
