Review for WWE Vengeance 2011
OH MY GOD!
If you needed three words to sum up this event, those three words are the ones. I'd hate to spoil it… but the fact is the cover does just that and let's face it, if you have been watching WWE for 2011 then you will know about the superplex between Mark Henry and Big Show that broke the ring. Any time this happens it is amazing to see and I think this is one of the best.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Air Boom (Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne) vs. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger
I'd love to say this was a great match. It wasn't, but as a tag team fan it's not bad and at least the two teams felt like teams. I love the mix of Air Boom and even Ziggler and Swagger make a great classic heel tag team. This isn't Bulldogs vs The Hart Foundation… but it's a step in the right direction.
United States Championship Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder
I love Zack Ryder I just hope that he can use this momentum and really break out. It's odd that WWE have not started using his internet videos on Raw, but no doubt they will soon enough.
Divas Championship Match
Beth Phoenix vs. Eve
Painful to watch as always. Eve looks great and it's not a match that is horrendous, but at times I just can't buy someone like Eve against the gigantic Beth.
Sheamus vs. Christian
Didn't I see this last month? A great match, just a shame that they are both soooooo far away from the belts or the main event scene. These are both great wrestlers and I love how even if he is a good or bad guy Sheamus just feels the same there is a very Stone Cold feel to his style and Christian is great as always.
Triple H & CM Punk vs. The Miz & R-Truth
I can't tell whether I enjoyed this or not. It was a good match and both teams worked well together, but in the grand scheme of things… What was the point? Great to see Triple H wrestle more than once a year though.
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
A good match, though I do wonder what the point of it was? Both work well together and I have enjoyed Rhodes' heel turn, but this match was just filler for me.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Mark Henry vs. Big Show
OMG!!!! That's really all I have to say.
Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship
Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena
I hate Alberto Del Rio and not a huge fan of Cena and so this match was slightly pointless to me. Some great moments, but feel that there have been much better Last Man Standing matches in the past… this was not one of them.
Vengeance 2011 was an ok PPV, it had some good matches, but overall no direction. It felt that this PPV existed simply for the OMG moment and that everyone else knew that their match didn't matter and therefore it felt off. However, if you do want to relive one of the best OMG moments in WWE history you should get this PPV.
