Anime Review Roundup (Updated)

MVM Reshuffle Their Schedule

When MVM announced Mayo Chiki earlier this year, the expectation was that it would come with an English dub. Sentai threw a spanner in the works last week when they announced that their US release would be Japanese audio with subtitles only. In the past, popular sub only DVD releases have gone on to be subsequently dubbed by Sentai, but it's a guessing game trying to figure out which ones. Consequently, MVM have pushed their release of Mayo Chiki back to 2013. To take its place, they've moved Rozen Maiden Ouverture up, and it will be released this November instead.

UPDATE: And So Do Manga

Some news just in from Manga Entertainment...
Quote:
Due to unforeseen circumstances Manga UK has been forced to push back the release date of Ninja Scroll to the 26th November 2012.

Manga are delighted to be releasing this anime classic on Blu-ray for the first time and would like to thank fans for their patience and support.

One anime title reviewed last week, and it turned out to be the rather delectable Fairy Tail: Part 3. I had my doubts when the series first debuted in the UK, a long running shonen action series appeared to be the last thing we needed, in a small market already saturated with Bleach and Naruto. Since then, we've also had the UK debut of the classic Dragon Ball Z, and you would think that weight alarm on the elevator would be ringing at this point. Instead, I'm finding Fairy Tail to be the best of the bunch, mixing action, comedy and drama with deft ease, while maintaining a brisk pace to its lean narrative. See how Part 3 fared in my view by clicking the link.

Manga Entertainment release Fairy Tail: Part 3 on DVD today.
