Two classic British films get remastered for Blu-ray and DVD this November
Two classic British films digitally remastered are coming to DVD and Blu-ray this November, courtesy of Studio Canal. The first is Ealing film noir It Always Rains on Sunday, out on the 12th.
Based on the novel by Arthur La Bern, this is directed by Robert Hamer and stars Googie Withers and her real life husband John McCallum. Extras will include a brand new retrospective featurette, behind the scenes stills gallery and trailer.
Synopsis is as follows...
Rose Sandigate is a bitter Bethnal Green housewife stuck in a dull marriage, hemmed in on all sides by well-meaning but nosey neighbours and jealous of the burgeoning social life of her precocious stepdaughter.
Her dreary world is turned upside down by the sudden re-appearance of an old flame, Tommy, on the run from the police having escaped from prison.
Next up we have Alec Guinness in famous classic The Man in the White Suit. Also starring Joan Greenwood, Cecil Parkerand Michael Gough, extras will include a brand new Revisiting The Man in the White Suit featurette, behind-the-scenes stills gallery, restoration comparison, new subtitles for the hard of hearing, and a trailer.

Sidney Stratton, a genius inventor, develops a fabric that never gets dirty or wears out. Thinking that his invention will be welcomed with open arms by the garment industry, he is shocked when both manufacturers and unions alike try to suppress it.
