Documentary series 56 Up comes to DVD this November
Fans of the intermittent long running documentary series by director Michael Apted will be pleased to hear that 56 Up is coming to DVD on 12th November courtesy of Network Distributing.
With a running time of 144 minutes, the film and TV director revisits 13 adults from different backgrounds whose lives have been documented every seven years since they were seven years of age.
The original Seven Up! first aired in 1964 on ITV as a World in Action special. The series was inspired by 1960s Britain’s rigid class system and the Jesuit saying, "Give me the child until he is seven and I will show you the man."
This unique and groundbreaking series set out to discover how far the children’s lives were pre-determined by their background. A key highlight includes more of the original line-up taking part than ever before with one participant, Peter, deciding to re-join the series after almost 30 years.
