    Review of Desperate Justice

    5 / 10

    Introduction

Carol Roger`s (Lesley Ann Warren) life is torn apart after her young daughter is found viciously beaten and raped and now lies in a coma.
The school janitor is arrested and tried but is left to go free as his hot shot lawyers and his doting mother provide a rock solid case and alibi. Distraught and traumatised by this injustice, Carol takes the law into her own hands with disastrous consequences. Carol discovers that the law which let a brutal attacker walk free has no mercy for a mother who was desperate to find some justice. This is the true story of a mother fight for justice in an unjust world.

    Video

This produced for TV film was never going to look particularly special and as such has all the inherent faults of your average U.S TV film.
Presented in a 4:3 ratio, the picture lacks detail and always seems to be just slightly out of focus. It is a fairly average picture overall but has a minimum of compression problems and fairly accurate colour balance. There are a few bits of dirt and suchlike on screen from time to time, and now and again a little grain appears in certain shots.
Basically imagine your watching it on your favourite daytime channel and this is how it looks, excluding any interference of course.

    Audio

Most of the soundtrack is dialogue driven and as such always remains clear and understandable with no harshness or other nastiness. Music sounds fairly flat and lacks impact due to its limited dynamic range and offers no suprises with hardly a stereo effect in earshot. A fairly workman like stereo track that does its job but offers little else.

    Features

Features include a selection of trailers for other films by Odyssey, a synopsis of the film and a star biography.
There are 14 chapters and the menus are static.

    Conclusion

If you like these U.S TV films and there is nothing decent on in the afternoon then you would probably enjoy this courtroom drama type of film. The video/audio presentation is fairly average due to the source material but there are no real problems here if you were thinking of buying.
