Synopsis:
Visionary director Ron Fricke's breathtaking masterpiece Baraka has been restored and re-mastered using the latest technology available to the filmmakers. Believed to be a first, the original negative was scanned frame by frame for 3 weeks at the maximum possible resolution of 8K rather than the standard 2K. Then the frame-by-frame restoration work began! The results are remarkable to witness and this incredible film can be seen as never before. Baraka: Remastered will be available as a stunning two disc special edition DVD release and Blu-Ray release on 10 November 2008 courtesy of Second Sight.
A visually stunning film shot over 13 months in 24 countries, Baraka is an overwhelming experience that spans the geographical, cultural and social diversity of our changing planet. Set to an atmospheric soundtrack inspired by various rituals and nature itself; the film captures the very essence of man's relationship with the earth, both harmonious and catastrophic. Baraka is a journey of rediscovery. It is the power, the beauty and the rage of life itself. It is the world we live in.
