Synopsis:
As Europe's leading horror director, Dario Argento is a Cine-Excess phenomenon. His 1977 Suspiria is a masterpiece of the modern macabre, using complex plotting, excessive visual style and even more excessive on-screen murders that situate it between arthouse and atrocity.
The film stars Jessica Harper as an American student who uncovers a deadly coven of witches at her prestigious German dance academy. With its experimental camerawork and lighting and an unnerving score courtesy of the rock group Goblin, Suspiria is an epic European nightmare as influential as it is terrifying.
This new high definition transfer also boasts newly commissioned extras including the documentary 'Fear at 400 Degrees: The Cine-Excess of Suspiria' featuring Argento and Claudio Simonetti, plus critical reaction to the film and an audio commentary by leading Argento experts Alan Jones and Kim Newman making this the ultimate edition of Suspiria for fans and theorists alike.
