Synopsis:
A perfect combination of the Hollywood heist film and Melville's trademark existentialism, LE CERCLE ROUGE is a masterful study of the French Underworld and a uniquely stylish Gallic film noir, starring Alain Delon as an aristocratic master-thief who joins forces with a fugitive and alcoholic ex-cop in order to carry out the ultimate robbery, with each of the mismatched trio determined to cheat fate. They are successful, but the fence, shaken by the value of the loot, suggests they go to a specialist, who is none other than the inspector handling the case.
