Review for WWE Royal Rumble 2015
The Royal Rumble is one of my favourite events of the year, but after last year's disastrous event I really worried about this event. Many people hated it, many people gave it an average review, but I thought it was a great event.
This event saw some great matches a great Rumble featuring the likes of Brya Wyatt, Roman Reigns and a returning Daniel Bryan. The match featured a lot of great moments. Kofi Kingston had his crazy Rumble Elimination Save courtesy of Adam Rose's Rosebuds. There was surprise appearance by Kevin Nash, DDP and Bubba Ray Dudley which was nice, though the best was the complete shock appearance by The Boogeyman.
I would say the match was superior to last year's (Not hard) and I was happy with the ending. Despite a lot of people having issues with who won, I would say that I would love the WWE Universe to make up their minds about who they want to be pushed. I have no problem with the winner.
Apart from the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match the undercard features all tag matches which is strange. Though for someone like me who like tag team wrestling, I loved it. The Ascension vs. The New Age Outlaws was an OK match that was really only their for the nostalgia pop. The Usos against The Miz and Damien Mizdow for the WWE Tag Team Championship was great and showed just why The Usos were most definitely the best tag team of 2014. The Bellas against Paige and Natalya could have been better, but certainly looked good.
The Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was fantastic. Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins and John Cena all had some impressive moments throughout. What was great was that it showed that Brock could be hurt and could be in a pinning situation. This is something that hasn't happened for a while and I do think that leading into Wrestlemania it is something that needed to happen. I really enjoyed the match and think that if it hadn't been for the Rumble, this would have been a great main event.
Royal Rumble 2014 is one of those PPVs that will always divide the people depending on who wins. Sometimes WWE get it right, sometimes they misfire. I would say, this is a year that they got it right and it will be great to see if they can pull it off again when it gets to Mania time. This is definitely a PPV worth watching again.
