Hailing from Southend, Redtrack consist of Billy Wright (guitar and vocals), Phil Blake (bass and vocals) and Andrew Perry (drums and vocals). Their debut EP consists of four tracks, including the song Wait Around which is getting exposure via Radio 1. Wait Around is a catchy enough track with Wright's lyrics describing a sympathetic mate waiting for his friend to recover from a rather brutal break-up from a girl who was bad news.

Miss You Not is a rather bitter song that could well be the subject of the first track. He's been dumped and having a hard time coping with it, and looking to just let his ex-girlfriends new bloke know a few things about his ex-love, with the line "I'm sure he'll see you're a bitch in time…" summing up his feelings quite succinctly.

All four tracks are very much driven by Wright's guitar that kind of reminds me of early Paul Weller/The Jam, but I'm not expert in this genre so I could be mistaken. I have to say that it's not really my style of music but I found it to be ok, I quite liked it but not enough for it to find it's way onto my iPod. That's just me though, and I'm a sucker for pretentious lyrics and synths.

Worth a listen at least on their mySpace page and then you can decide for yourselves. Not bad though…
