Synopsis:
Like a testosterone-laden version of `Azumanga Daioh`, the quirky comedy anime series `Cromartie High School` chronicles the rough-and-tumble high jinx at a school for male juvenile delinquents. The series centres on Takashi Kamiyama, a normal 16-year-old with average grades who somehow ends up at the infamous academy. Here he is forced to navigate its brutal social hierarchy of juvies, outlaws, bullies, and thugs - as well as a 400-pound gorilla, a robot who thinks he`s human, and a Freddie Mercury wannabe. Based on a hugely popular manga, `Cromartie High School` parodies the world of boy-school anime with meta style, tongue-in-cheek humour, and plenty of references to the operatic rock band Queen. This volume introduces the wacky anime series with the first eight episodes.
