Review of South Park Volume 9
Introduction
Season 3 of South Park continues on DVD, with the next four episodes. As I have mentioned previously, the biggest change that you`ll see is that the box has switched from Super Jewel to Amaray, so that they no longer all match on your shelf.
Video
Like the eight previous discs, a pretty good 4:3 transfer, with the odd artefact here and there. Nothing to complain about though.
Audio
Continuing the trend set by all of the preceding discs, a DD2.0 stereo track, perfectly adequate for the job. As per previous seasons the French audio track is included, with different voices for the characters. A different way to practice your French skills!
Features
Extras on South Park discs are just a dim and distant memory now. All of the third series discs are bereft of any bonus materials.
Conclusion
Another 4 classic episodes for your viewing pleasure.
"Sexual Harassment Panda" (yes, really!) is probably one of the finest episodes of South Park. After he visits South Park the residents get caught up in ever decreasing circles of litigation, busily spending their time sueing each other over and over again. The only person profiting is a certain lawyer. The Panda has long since departed, but can he come back and save the day? A brilliant episode.
"Cat Orgy" does in fact feature a feline-fest, as well as some re-enactment of "Wild Wild West", and some babysitter problems. This episode has some more great moments, with Cartman taking centre stage.
"Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub" and "Jewbilee" both centre around the meteor shower, with the same event looked at from different angles. Things get out of hand at Mr Mackey`s party, and a SWAT team arrive ready to prevent a mass suicide. Can the boys use the skills they learnt from watching Charlie`s Angels to prevent a massacre? And can Kenny pass himself off as a Jew at the nearby scout camp? More South Park madness from the team.
Another treat for fans.
