Synopsis:
Partly inspired by the grisly, real-life exploits of serial killers Fred and Rosemary West, and starring Shane Meadows regular Perry Benson (Somers Town; This Is England), the film puts a uniquely British spin on the horror genre, setting its tale very close to home (quite literally) and resulting in a brutally realistic horror story.
Lena is a young Polish immigrant working as an office cleaner at London's Heathrow Airport. After missing her last bus home following the evening shift, she accepts an offer of help from friendly co-worker Birdie and her brother Elbie, who live nearby with their 'adoptive' parents. No sooner has she arrived at Birdie's house than she is knocked unconscious, awaking some time later to find herself locked in a squalid bedroom, unable to speak and aware of the sound of screaming from the adjacent room. Then Mum and Dad appear and it quickly becomes apparent that Lena has been drawn into a living nightmare of abuse, torture and murder. Imprisoned in this suburban house of horror and designated as 'mummy's girl', Lena's only chance of survival is to adapt and become part of this insane family or face the violent wrath of Mum and Dad.
