Another good Dr who dvd. This is one of the better Sylvester McCoy storys. This was released only on a special Dalek video box set and not released generally. Good video and sound with a far amount of extras, including deleted scenes, out-takes(which are quite funny), music-only soundtrack, trailers, photo gallery and commentary from both Sylvester and Sophie. I liked it the first time around and still enjoy now, if your a Dr who fan than this should be in your collection.

I bought this late March after I enjoyed purchasing previous BBC DVD "The Robots Of Death."I myself am a Doctor Who fan and wanted to add to my collection of replacing VHS for DVD versions of the episodes. Personally I don`t enjoy most of Sylvester Mccoy`s era except this story. The archives have done a good job polishing the picture and sound but I would have preffered if they added more to the extras. They are plenty I know but they could have done a visual featurette with the actors and crew who brought us this particular story. The isolated score is clever and the BBC in future will most probably use it again.

I am new to the DVD revolution so took it upon myself to start with a few safe bets such as Dr Who. I don`t find myself ever going wrong with the good Doctor and so I was pleasently surprised with what can only be described as a gorgeous DVD.
It amased me how great the picture looked and the extras that were available. I loved the commentary as it was quite amusing to listen to. The menus are brilliantly devised and complement the whole DVD well. Shame the cover is poor!
The sound is good (I don`t have a 5.1 yet!) The extras were great and the trailers were interesting to watch. One I will watch again and again as it is so playable and accessible.
The story is good as the eighties for the DR began to take an upturn before it was ripped off our screens the next year in a lack of faith by the BBC. If these are selling well and I don`t see why they wouldn`t appeal to people as they are very impressive then maybe the BBC should think agin!
Its great I loved it, roll on the next, Caves of Androzani please!

This is an excellent DVD for a TV series that is 12 years old, and the extras are comparable (and even surpass) some of the discs offered on new films. The picture is of a high quality, with animated menus. The story does require you to have some previous knowledge of Doctor Who, but doesn`t exclude you completely if you don`t (I suggest you access the onscreen production notes, as these may help with some of the plot lines)

There has been a lot of time and effort put in to this disc and recommend it to the die hard fan, and casual veiwers alike.

Pity about the cover though!!
