Synopsis:
Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) is the daughter of Pandit Darbar (Vikram Gokhale), renowed proponent of classical music, living in the Rann of Kutch. Nandini has been brought up with more freedom and education than her siblings as she is the most beloved of Pundit Darbar.

Into the family comes Sameer (Salman Khan), a boy of Indo-Hungarian parentage. He is a music student, and wants to grasp the essence of HIndustani music under the guidance of Pundit Darbar. During the course of his one year stay, Sameer and Nandini fall in love.

When their love is discovered, Sameer is banished from the household. Meanwhile Nandini`s parents have arranged to get her married. Nandini goes through the marriage with Vanraj (Ajay Devgan). He is deeply in love with her and all he asks is that in they maintain the charade of a happy couple for the sake of his family. They live in this deceit briefly, until Sameer`s letters reach Nandini, and Vanraj discovers them. He then shows his true love and wisdom and takes Nandini to Hungary to search for Sameer... Will they ever find him?
