Synopsis:
David Alden's witty and sensual production of Handel's last italian opera is a bold reclamation of a hitherto-neglected work. In an internecine Greek political struggle before the Trojan war, military glory crushes personal fulfilment, embodied by Deidamia's journey from holiday girl to tragic heroine.
