Review for WWE Elimination Chamber 2015

When the Elimination Chamber PPV was removed from its place in February I rejoiced. I always felt after the Royal Rumble, the event was placed in the wrong place. Here it makes sense and certainly the PPV is a highlight of the year and one that I enjoyed watching again. It is not the blood and anarchy of ones from the past, but the whole event was a great showing not only of these matches, but of the new talent that WWE had to offer.

For the first time, the tag titles were on the line in the Chamber pitting champions New Day against The Ascension, Lucha Dragons, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, Prime Time Players and Los Matadores. This was a fantastic match which really showed off all the teams. My only issue with this match is simply this: Partway through the crowd started chanting 'New Day Sucks', now I know that is what we fans do. We boo the heels, but it is quite clear that the fans did not like them and wanted them to lose, but then who am I to judge? The sight of Kalisto jumping off the top of the Chamber would have been moment of the night if they hadn't spoilt it and have El Torito do it moments later. A good showcase for the tag division though.

Nikki Bella against Paige and Naomi in Triple Threat for the Divas Championship. With that kind of stipulation you would expect the match to last more than seven minutes. Right? Ha! Who am I kidding? Despite all the 'Give Divas a Chance' movement, it seems that WWE simply will not do this. All three Divas are great in their characters, but why they won't allow them the time to wrestle is beyond me.

NXT Champion Kevin Owens against US Champion John Cena was fantastic. Both men proved why they are on the roster. Cena proved that he will do his best to make someone else look good and Owens proved that he is ready for the big time. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the main roster by Wrestlemania. It was a great match, given the time it deserved.

Bo Dallas against Neville was a great showcase of how great Neville is and given just enough time to mean something. I enjoyed the match and it was certainly proof that, along with Kevin Owens, Neville is someone from NXT to watch in the future.

The second Elimination Chamber for the vacant Intercontinental Championship saw R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry, Sheamus, Ryback and King Barrett. This was a great match again. I always worry when there is one than one match that it would take something away from each other. However, both of these matches were fanastic. Everyone within the match looked like they could walk away with the title and that's what makes a match like this so great.

Dean Ambrose against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was a good match, not a great match, but a good match. Both work well together and though this match didn't have the fire of their matches from 2014, it was still enjoyable to watch. My only issue with this match is that the whole 'Authority' fixing the game in Rollins' favour is getting a little boring. That being said it was still a good match to watch.

Elimination Chamber 2015 could possibly be my favourite PPV of 2015 so far. I don't know why. Maybe it was the push of the new talent, maybe it was because both Elimination Chambers were great, maybe it was that I just enjoyed going along for the ride. Whatever it is, this is one of the few PPVs that I didn't most of my time itching to Fast Forward to the next segment. All of the matches (apart from the Divas, but I have become to expect that) was enjoyable to watch and this was one that I was happy to sit through again. If you are a fan of the Chamber or simply want to watch some new talent from WWE, this is the PPV to pick up.
