Review for WWE Elimination Chamber
The Elimination Chamber is one of those matches that I have a love-hate relationship. I love the concept, however I also feel that it is too similar to the Royal Rumble match which was only last month. This event certainly went for the shock factor when it comes to leaving me with my mouth wide stunned at what I had just witnessed.
The two Elimination Chamber matches are great... until they end and it is a shame that there had to be two as each one had a shocking ending, but the Smackdown one which kicked off the show felt a little flat at the end because of the outcome and because of that it left a bitter taste for the rest of the night. It also felt a little cheap. The ending of the Raw one was also shocking and I am not sure which one would have been the best way to end the night.
However, both matches were fantastic and filled with exciting moments that you would expect from this match. What I did like about both was there was definitely a feeling that anyone could win which is always great with this type of match.
The Triple Threat for the US Championship was a pretty good match and I am not sure why I am so surprised by this. All three (John Morrison, Riddle and Bobby Lashley) work really well together and though I am never a fan of the Triple Threat stipulation it worked well with these three.
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair is fine for what it is. I am not a huge fan of the teaming of Banks and Belair, especially when we know they will be the match at Wrestlemania.
The only extra is the Fatal 4-Way from the Kickoff show which pitted Mustafa Ali, Ricochet, Elias and John Morrison for a spot in the US Title match. This was a really good match and a shame it was left on the Kickoff as it deserved more spotlight than that.
Elimination Chamber 2021 is one of the major road bumps on the road to Wrestlemania and although the blocks are still not in place there are certainly some stepping stones to get to the granddaddy of them all. This event had four great matches (The two Elimination Chamber, US and the US Qualifier matches) it is just let down by someone thinking that us being shocked would also satisfy us. These are sadly moments I wish I could eliminate from my memory.
