Hanks and Zemecksis reunite for the first time since Forrest Gump. This movie is not as good as Forrest Gump but comes pretty close.
Hanks works for Fed-Ex and is stranded on an uninhabited island. The movie makes the audience feel some sort of emotion for Hanks. He tries so hard to get of the Island but the currents prevent him from getting off. The only thing that keeps him company on the island is a football which he has drawn a face on and has given hair. It is perhaps the only thing keeping him alive.

The visuals are pretty good. The island itself is colourful and the ocean surrounding the island brings out some good wave sounds that are greatly represented on the DD 5.1. The picture itself could have been a bit better. It is at times grainy especially in some dark scenes. The movie is quite long but is entertaining so the time goes pretty swiftly.

There are a few good extras but as it is a 2 disc set, they could have packed a bit more. Most of the second disc is empty and thus just wasted.

Overall a very good film that made me feel for Hank`s character. I havent seen many deserted island flicks so this to me was very interesting to see how a man survives and it is quite believable. Hanks portrays the character very well. I recommend this for buying or renting at the very least.
