Your Opinions and Comments
Good spread of trailers and bits and bobs cut from the original film. Lots to play with.
Video
Considering this is an old film by today`s standards the quality is still pretty good. Freeze the film during the fight between Ripley and the Alien Queen and you can see the strings holding up the Queen and Ripley`s Loader -something you could never do on video. Only DVD gives away the wires so carefully hidden in the film.
Audio
Just play it loud - who cares about the sound quality when visuals still look this good.
Features
The best part of this DVD. Why did they cut out some of those scenes man - oh and the Alien Queen looks pathetic in her raw state - Poor Queenie!
Overall
It`s a Ripper - well worth buying and puts some newer SFX to real shame.
If you love Space opera and pretty sure most DVD Owners do!
Then this movie is the BOMB!
As close to perfection as you can get!
It`s all there big guns, spaceships, monsters! bigger guns!
Up until Aliens Star Wars held the crown for space opera!
Some of the effects look a bit ropey but what the hell!
I really didn`t know what I was missing on my old VHS copy!
Excellent Interactive Menu
Picture and sound are so tight!
Still`s and art gallery Cool,
Featurette is OK
Extra scenes - Apart from the ealry scenes on LV426 which were just OK - Were great! Especially the robot sentry guns intense or what?!
Overall one of my top ten movies - Could have really done with a directors commentry on this DVD though!
