Review of Emmanuelle 2

Introduction

The Emmanuelle series of movies will be familiar to all those who as teenagers spotted the movies on late night television and stayed up to watch the films to ogle at the naked women and watch the sex.

These infamous French movies follow "Emmanuelle`s quest for sexual fulfilment" and in this case she travels to back to her husband in Hong Kong and has a number of affairs...

Video

The video for this second movie comes in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and is of surprisingly good quality considering the age of the movie.

The image is free of dirt and grain, and is fairly detailed - the picture is colourful and stable.

Obviously the primary reason that most people watch any of the Emmanuelle movies is nudity and sex - and there is plenty, of both the hetero and lesbian variety - although this is obviously within the limitations of the 18 certificate that the movie has - so you`re limited to full frontal nudity and sex scenes with carefully arranged camera angles. It`s all very tastefully done...

Audio

The soundtrack comes in Dolby Digital 2.0 and is functional - with the music and dialogue presented competently.

The dialogue comes in a choice of languages, I chose the original French language with English subtitles - there is also dubbed English available for those who prefer - but in all reality most people who watch this disc will be watching, not listening.

The only extra on offer is the trailer.

Conclusion

Overall, it`s difficult to know what to say about this movie - it`s a well-made soft pr0n film, which is well presented on DVD, but features the usual uninteresting generic storyline and plot between the sex scenes.

At the end of the day, whether you like Emmanuelle is probably dependent on whether your preference for "late-night entertainment" is for soft-pr0n with a storyline like this, of soft-pr0n of the Playboy variety, which simply features women getting their kit off.
