The camera positions are, as usual, placed at the whim of the director, who regularly points them up to the roof of this fantastic building, but still has a few quirky moments such as appearing right behind the double basses in one of their more interesting passages (as it were). When concentrating on Boulez, you can see how little needs to be shown when conducting an orchestra like this, but even then it`s fascinating watching someone who is more steeped in contemporary music tackle something different. I wish though that we could have multiple camera angles to choose from as I would have loved to see certain instruments played which are often in the background.
The extra interview was very disappointing. I learnt little about the piece (Bruckner editions are a fascinating mish-mash at times), or performance (being an anniversary concert) and the interviewer struck me as being rather dull. The only let down of the disk really.
