My review of this disc is a little bit bizarre, as I`m reviewing it from an American perspective. Unfortunately, the DVD player I have that does my PAL/NTSC conversion won`t alow me to access any of the special features on the disc, just play and chapter search.

The sound on the disc is excellent, with a great soundtrack to boot.

Unfortunately, the picture, when output to my circa 1995 RCA 36" TV, is slightly squished/stretched. HOWEVER, when I use my old Sharp projector, the picture is output correctly. Don`t know what to make of that. The movie itself is very dark, and if you don`t have your brightness WAY up, you might not be abe to tell what the hell is going on in some scenes. Never having seen the movie in the theater, I canot say whether this is a disc problem or not.

As for the movie, it is a keeper. I had read a lot of reviews about how `over-the-top` this movie was, and surprisingly, it wasn`t as crazy as I`d expected. It spends the first half of the movie dutifully introducing us to all the characters, whereas the 2nd half is mostly awesome action. Dobermann himself is a cool character, sure he robs banks, but he seems far more honorable than the psychotic police chief on his tail. If you haven`t seen it, check it out ASAP.

I give this disc a definite recommendation.

I`d like to add a litle postscript here:
Go to the beginning of Chapter 12 on the disc. It will show you you the glorious scene of the police psycho getting a Sandwich Grec in Paris. I went to school in Paris for 6 months in 1990 and lived in the 16th arrondissement where these sandwiches were cheap and plentiful. They give you a whole gyros/swarma sandwich on a HUGE french bread WITH an entire order of fries IN THE SANDWICH!!!. You can`t get anything like that in the States and God, do I miss `em. It`s at the VERY beginning of chapter 12. YUMMY!
