In Harry`s second year at Hogwarts, a school for young witches and wizards, he is warned by a house elf to stay at home because something bads about to happen there but Harry goes anyway. He soon finds out that the mythical and deadly chamber of secrets not only exists but has been opened. He teams up with his 2 best friends, Ron and Hermione as they investigate.
The movie is a lot darker than the first one but has lots of fun and humorous elements to remain light hearted. The young cast is superb as well as the elder cast members. Though I have not read the book, no doubt a lot has been left out but on the whole, the movie has been scripted well by Steven Kloves. The plot is brilliant and J K Rowling deserves every penny of her £280 million fortune.
The dvd picture is fantastic all throughout, even in the darker scenes. The widescreen picture is colourful and razor sharp. The sound is an excellent DD 5.1 EX and for a movie with lots of sound and special effects, sound is very important. It is very clear, sharp and distributed well all around.
There are many extras here for both adults and children. For Adults there is a conversation with J K Rowling and Steven Kloves, Interviews with cast members and quite a few deleted scenes. For kids there are lots of quizes and games to keep them busy as well as a build a scene feature. It was dissapointing that there still is no commentary or detailed making of. These are basic extras and are a lot more useful than some of the other stuff they have put on. These were also missing from the DVD of the first movie.
Overall a splendid dvd only let down by lack of making of and commentary. Definetly worth buying
