Synopsis:
From humble beginnings living as petty thieves on the streets of Macau two orphans, Alan Chen Wai-lun (Alan Tang) and Chang Ho-tien (Chow Yun Fat), rise to become successful underworld figures and owners of a triad nightclub and restaurant. On an arms-running trip to Thailand, Alan meets and falls in love with a local lounge singer. Meanwhile, following a chance meeting with his childhood sweetheart, Chang is compelled to give up the gangster lifestyle in order to settle down.
However, when Alan gets into trouble with rival triad members and initiates a gang war, Chang must make the fateful decision of whether or not to support his blood brother in the face of almost certain death. Scripted by Wong Kar-Wai (In The Mood For Love, Chungking Express) and skilfully directed by Joe Cheung, Flaming Brothers features beautifully poignant performances from Tang and Yun Fat.
