Synopsis:
It sounded like just another urban legend - a videotape filled with nightmarish images, leading to a phone call foretelling the viewer`s death in exactly seven days. As a newspaper reporter, Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) was naturally skeptical of the story, until four teenagers all met with mysterious deaths exactly one week after watching just such a tape. Allowing her investigative curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel tracks down the video and watches it. Now, she must enlist the aid of her friend Noah (Martin Henderson) to save her life and the life of her son (David Dorfman). Together, they have just seven days to unravel the mystery of The Ring. The American remake of Hideo Nakata`s Ring is every bit as scary as the original...

Your Opinions and Comments
The film has tense atmosphere all the way from start to shocking finish, and can be pretty creepy at times, and while not as scary as the original it is still one of the better horror remakes in a long time.
The picture is clear and sharp as with most new films now.
The sound is really good making good use of the 5.1 mix.
The extras let down this disk a bit as there are only 3 extras. A trailer for Catch Me If You Can. (a trailer for The Ring would have been better) A collection of clips from the movie (some not in the movie, like deleted scenes) and 1 easter egg which plays the tape from the movie and then when the menu comes back on a phone rings in the background (good for 5.1 users)
Overall thought a decent film, worth watching.
