Your Opinions and Comments
The Films,
Raiders of the lost Ark.
Re-named Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the lost Ark for dvd. After being contacted by the US goverment to track down the Arc of the covernt before the Naiz`s do. Indy flys to Cairo to meet an old friend and track down the arc. It`s up to Indy to with the help of his friends to track down the location of the Arc and get it away from teh Nazis as qucik as possible. Unfortunatly after finding the Arc the Nazi`s discover him and take the arc. It is now up to Indy and his friends to Prevenet the Nazi`s unleasing the power of the Arc. I found this to be the best film in the triology with an excellent story and some truly impressive set pieces.
10/10
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom:
Temple of doom is alot darker than the other two films int eh triology. The level of Violence in the film led to a public outcry, so Speilberg contacted the Head of the MPAA and had a new age rating created "PG: 13". Unfortunatly the BBFC cut the film by 1:06 for uk relase. This is the version that is released on the dvd.
Temple of Doom` displays a slightly more intense and darker tone. All packed with imaginative set pieces and stunts, they remain Spielberg`s most accessible and entertaining films. Arguably the second film in the trilogy, `Temple of Doom`, is the weakest, lacking the straight ahead momentum of the other two. Indy escapes from Shanghi after a deal goes sour. After the Air plain Indy, Willie and short round is sabotaged, they ahve no option but to jump from the aircraft. Little knowing they have dropped in to India. While in India they discover a village, where every thing is not what it seems. The head of the village tells Indy to travel to a Placae and recover a sacrid stone. Here Indy battles an Evil Cult, goes and a mine cart run and has fun on a rope bridge.

Indiana Jones and the last Crusade:
After Indys father is Kidnapped looking for the Holly grail in Venice. Indy flys to Venice where he uncovers a Nazi plot to use Indys father to find the grail and use it to get eternal life.
This film is back on form and has a great tank Chase and some good elements of comedy. Still it is`nt as good as Raiders.
9/10
The dvds:
Picture:
Well what can i say the THX certified prints sure deliver. I was expecting lots of grain in Radiers since it was made 23 years ago. But i was very suprissed, the picture on all three films is presented in 2:35:1 anamorphic widescreen. The picture is as good as we all hoped for if not better, the colours are all very good and the blacks are solid and well defined. There is a little grain but nothing off putting also there is hardly no edge-enchanment. Temple of doom improves on the Raiders picture slighty and has no floors, all the reds look fine and there`s no sign of much grain. The last Crusade has a truly stunning picture and looks like it was only made about 5 years ago. The picture puts some newer films to shame.
Audio:
Both Radiers and Temple of Doom were originally mixed in Dolby Stereo with mono-surrounds. The surrounds are used effectivly for effects, but they are used contasntly for John Williams classic score. The front sound stage is alive with activing and the panning effects are very good. The LFE is thunderous and adds alot to the films especally to the boulder chase. The last crusade is the best sounding since it was oringinally mixxed Stereo surrounds. Check out the tank shell scene it`ll make you smile. The surrounds are not overly active but they come into play when they are needed. All three films are presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 . I was hoping for a DTS mix since both Saving Private Ryan and Back to the fure featured them. Lucas is a DTS fanboy sticking it on all his theatricle fims but not dvds. This is due to THX`s link with Dolby, they both created Dolby Digital EX and now seem to always work together.
Extra`s.
There`s p;enty hear to sink your teeth into. The Daddy being the 2 hours plus making of the triology, which can be either watched as one long piece or broken up into each film. The docmentry has interviews with all the key cast and crew and the films and tells you everything you wanna know about teh making of the films.
There are also 4 10-15 minutes featutres which cover:
The Stunts
The Sound
The Music
The special effects.
They all intresting and a joy to watch. Last we have a selection of trailers for all the films.
