Synopsis:
Director Roger Corman brings to life this atmospheric adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe story with amazing visuals and camera angles. Nicholas Medina (Vincent Price), a 16th Century nobleman is suffering in his remote castle after the death of his beloved wife Elizabeth (Barbara Steele) whom he believes has been buried alive. Guests, including a doctor, his sister and Elizabeth`s brother show up looking for answers... but some of them are up to more devious things. An elaborate torture chamber with a rack, an iron maiden and (of course) a pit and a pendulum add up to a frightening finale when Nicholas finally snaps and believes he`s his own father...a notoriously sadistic Spanish inquisitor!
