Review of Cage Rage 7: Battle of Britain
Introduction
This according to the blurb on the packaging is the sport of the future. It`s boxing but not as you know it. Little protection is used-there are no helmets or roper boxing gloves. The contenders or `gladiators` use knees, elbows, punches, kicks, chokes and locks to battle their opponent. There are three five minute rounds inside a cage construction and there is a referee.
This is a British sport and the DVD is one of a series currently being released.
Video
If you like watching two blokes slugging it out in a ring the picturis clear enough. There is a limited amount of different camera angles available to make it any more interesting. There are no technical problems with the picture.
Audio
Again no technical problems with the sound.
Features
None included.
Conclusion
I admit I`m not the target audience and I`ve always been anti-boxing because it hurts. The idea of grown men standing on a canvas sheet and pummelling the hell out of each other belongs in the dark ages. If this is the new British sport then God help us. This is not the showing-off and posing of WWF this is more like fighting in the streets without the knives. People get hurt, and it`s not pleasant to watch.
As entertainment I see no virtue in it but putting myself in place as a fan I believe it would be boring. The matches are short the commentary banal.
I would not recommend it to fans or otherwise.
