Armed with his lethal band of flying silver spheres, the deadly mortician who was thought to have killed his last victim nine years ago, returns more dangerous than ever.

"Phantasm II" is the sequel to the popular, and darkly chilling, "Phantasm" and picks up straight after the first with amazing pace and action all the way through. I won`t spoil the superb ending of the original so all I`ll say is we get a quick recap and then it jumps a few years later where Michael is in a mental institute. After being released he goes straight after the Tall Man and soon Reggie is by his side ready to do battle.
"Booooyyyeee!"
Digital Entertainment has once again managed to bring us a rather unexciting disc (much like with Halloween 4 and 5). Here we have a Pan & Scan 1.33:1 (4:3) aspect ratio, Dolby Digital 2.0 sound along with a few features and some pictures. Not exactly over flowing is it? The video is quite adequate, nothing spectacular but it does the job. Some grain can be seen at times, and it would have been nice to see the film in its original aspect ratio. The sound is crisp and clear, nothing stand-out but it does the job nonetheless.
Feature wise we have a Fangoria (a leading US horror magazine) TV spot with Angus Scrimm which is quite entertaining for the amount of time it lasts. We also have an interview with Angus as he talks about the film, it`s fine but nothing too special. We also have some US TV spots and some photos, nothing too special. It should keep you occupied for a night at the most.
In all honesty I would have loved to see this film in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 along with a 5.1 track. More extras would have been nice but I guess we`ll have to make do with what we have. Buy it if you`re a fan, if not... Don`t bother.
