Synopsis:
With a unique blend of magic, mirth and music, Tommy Cooper was a constant presence on television for four decades - instantly recognisable by his imposing height, lame jokes and trademark fez. His shows were all critical and commercial hits and, of them all, arguably his finest were the nine editions of the Tommy Cooper Hour, produced by Thames in the 1970s. It`s hardly surprising that it was noted "he only had to walk on stage to cause hysterics".
31 October 1973
See the incredible `One Man Theatre`, in which our hero plays four hundred parts! See the only holder of a black belt in defensive origami!
Tommy Cooper`s Christmas (25 December 1973)
Tommy adds his touch to the season of goodwill, showing how to cook a duck egg omelette, play snooker with a sand wedge and ride an ostrich.
2 January 1974
Meet Marmaduke Marmalade, the puppet who`s behind with his tax, Fred the fish and Brigadier Fotherington-Smythe and Kommandant Fritz von Schweinhund, who have only a nose between them.
24 April 1974
See `Sally the Sailor` with Tommy in both parts, a visit to a tailor to have his suit destroyed, an exploding Scout Master and two Adolf Hitlers!
11 September 1974
"Hour" (OWR) n. 60 minutes (pl): fixed habitual time for work, etc; Tommy`s hour, though, is a `Fixed Habitual Time` for laughter, magic and fun!
2 October 1974
Tommy tries his hand, or to be more precise, his feet, as a dancer in a revived 1940s musical and demonstrates the art of fund-raising.
27 November 1974
Tommy offers a masterclass in ventriloquism and plans to show another of his mystery movies (where what he does is a mystery even to him until it happens!)
25 December 1974
Tommy and his special guests pull out all the stops to present fun-packed, festive extravaganza for Christmas Day!
26 February 1975
