LG-3350E Extra Hack
If your firmware is either 1.2 1.3 or 1.4 you can enable VCD playback. For some reason it is not enabled when they ship this player. Firstly just to let you know most of the time when you use the hack to check the firmware it automatically resets the player back to its original region so you end up having to hack the region again.
· WARNING: This hack does not work on the LG DVD-3200E. Reports confirm that it completely screws-up the player! You have been warned.
· I strongly advise that you do not experiment with any other values or settings other than the ones specified. Doing so may result in undesired effects (e.g. foreign language menus) or may even disable your player completely.
· No changes are saved until you press the "ENTER" button. So if you think you have made a mistake before reaching that point, simply press "RETURN" and the procedure will be cancelled.
· I cannot of course accept any responsibility for anything that happens to your player whilst you are poking around with these settings. All I can say is, I`ve done it on my player and it works!
1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive
2. Press "PAUSE" on the remote
3. Enter "1472" on the remote (the characters 01 47 should appear on the display)
[If your player is a non UK model, this number will probably be different - don`t worry]
4. Press the UP arrow three times (the characters 04 Fd should appear on the display)
5. Press "PROGRAM", "6", "PROGRAM", "5" (the characters 04 FE should now be displayed)
6. Press "ENTER" (the display should flash briefly)
7. Press "RETURN"
8. Power the player off and then back on
9. Play a VCD!
Have Fun
