Is your player labelled as region 2?
Also, sounds like the Britannia REC 850 is the same as an Amstrad DVD 850, can anyone confirm that?

I`ve just received an REC 850 from britannia which they have told me is "unofficially multi-region", but it is clearly marked on the the rear as being a region two player. I don`t have any region one discs to try in the machine, just wondered if anyone elses player is labelled region two, and does it play region one?
