Confused about Samsung DVD+VHS combi player

Hi,
I am confused over the model numbers Samsung has for the above. For

example are the V1000 and the V5000 and the SV-DVD1E the same model?
If so, will I be able to use a V1000 DVD+VHS combi bought in the US,

say in India?
Even if I were to get over the power supply differences by using a

convertor, what about the PAL-NTSC differences?
WIll the multi-region hack announced at

"http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/full/samsung5000.asp"

work for the V1000?
