RE: Ronin dvd player hack ??

It does work

I`ve got a P80H and the code came with it

You shouldn`t have a disk in the machine at the time.

Try that.

RE: Best Budget DVD Player (DVD-R & VCD compatible)

Try the Ronin P80h from SVP.

www.blankdiscshop.co.uk

Excelent player. Does everything I could ask

RE: how do i make a mp3 dvd disc i can play in my panny e50?

You coudl try the DVD version of Winoncd - it`s supposed to author DVDs with audio like mp3

I haven`t tried it but it sounds like it could.

Alternatively get a new DVD player. I`ve just got the Ronin P80H from SVP and it will play mp3 straight from DVD

RE: Ronin dvd player hack ??

To change player to multi-region mode:
1. Press SETUP on Remote Control
2. Enter 13798888 - "Version" will appear as an option on the menu
3. Select VERSION from the menu by pressing ENTER
4. On REGIONAL CODE press RIGHT (>) button
5. Use DOWN button to change REGIONAL CODE to `0`
6. Press left to exit the region settings and you just need to get out of the menu system

RE: FOUND!!! HACK FOR GOODMANS DVD3500PK

Some people have had problems recording DVDs to VHS from the Goodmans 3500pk. One problem was the macrovision. Another was that only the sound for the rear channels was comming through.

Solutions

1. See hack page to fix the macrovision problem
2. To sort the sound for recording go to the Audio section of setup.
Change the Dolby Digital Analog Out to `2 channel` this will mix all 6 channels down to the 2 required for recording.

Don`t forget to change the Audio back to 6 channel after wards for watching your next DVD or you only get stereo, not the full surround sound

Good luck

RE: FOUND!!! HACK FOR GOODMANS DVD3500PK

As previously commented the zoom function is not very good on the Goodmans 3500pk. It seems to skip frames to keep up giving an almost slow motion effect.

I did find last night that the zoom worked perfectly on Jurassic Park 3 (region 1).

Perhaps the zoom was designed to Region 1/NTSC which is why we have trouble in the UK

Goodmans 3500PK - Zoom

When playing DVDd on the Goodmans 3500pk the zoom function doesn`t work very smoothly. It seems to miss frames so it looks almost slow motion.

I was playing Jurassic Park 3 (region1) last night and the zoom worked perfectly. Perhaps the zoom is designed for NTSC/region 1 and has trouble only with region 2 discs.

RE: FOUND!!! HACK FOR GOODMANS DVD3500PK

The lock up on the Goodmans 3500pk, like most machines it probably down to the change in layers on the disk. Probably after about half of the film?

RE: Which DVD Player to buy for £200?? Advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Try the Goodmans 3500pk fro Comet. Its amasing value for £200

DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD, MP3

Multi region with hack (see this web site)
Macrovision on/off (see this site too) so you can record from DVD to Video

and best of all it has a DD501 decoder built in with amp and surround sound speakers.

It`s probably not the best player around but for £200 it is in a class of it`s own

Buy it!

RE: Can a hacked goodmans 3500 play an RCE region 1 disk?

I think it should

RCE just means that it checks for a region check - I think!

If that is the case then you should be able to set it to region 1, even if region 0 doesn`t work.

I have tried Private Ryan and Highlander - both US versions and they work no problem.

Good luck

Mark

RE: Can the Goodmans 3500PK Play VCD and HOW

Its probably the CDR you are using - My 3500pk is very fussy about what type of disks it will play. Try copying the VCD onto CDRW the Goodmans will play them perfectly

Mark

RE: Zoom function on GOODMANS DVD3500PK

It does the same on mine. Its not slowed down though. I think it is slow at processing so it misses frames which looks like its slow but it all synchs ok with sound etc. I suppose you cant have everything for £200

Mark

RE: OOOOPS!!!

I have just got a similar experience.

I tried recording Jurassic Park onto tape fro my Goodmans 3500 and got only the rear channels. I may try re-arranging the scart leads

I guess if I select the Dolby Digital 2 Channel it shoudl record Ok but hoep to sort it out with leads etc.

Mark

RE: GOODMANS DVD3500PK - WE CAN DO IT!!!

Fantastic - this now has to be the best value DVD anywhere.

DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD, Mp3
and now multiregion
and you can tape from it. wow

Mark

RE: is there a hack for the goodmans 3500

No the 3000 is different to the 3500

Lots of people are looking for the hack for the Goodmans 3500 (me included)

Keep looking and if yo find one please let everyone know

RE: SHould i burn VCD`s on CDR or CDRW?

It depends on your player + CDRs are a lot cheaper and yoo can get 80 minute ones.

Be carefull to test with your player. Mine is a Goodmans 3500 and will only play CDRW reliably

RE: GOODMANS DVD3500PK

Traxdata seem to work ok

RE: Goodmans 3500PK

Because all the other Goodmans DVDs seem to be hackable and because it is rebranded by Currys/Dixons as a grundig I imagine that it is a far east import and as such it is probably hackable. I HOPE !

I don`t know how they are discovered though.

I have a few ideas

1 You can type in numbers when the door is open which come up on screen

2 There is a system reset option. Perhaps this will enable the setting of the region. I`m to skared to try this though.

RE: Grundig GDV620HT DVD / Surround sound system

CDRW work perfect, though they are £1 each.

Yes I think dark CDRs work better though I do have some cheap silver ones that play music Cd ok. VCD realy needs CDRW though because I get a lot of interference, blocking etc with CDRs

Traxdata CDRs seem quite good

RE: GOODMANS DVD3500PK

Mine plays some CDRs but not all. CDRW play perfect.

I think it may have something to do with the dye but don`t realy know.

RE: Goodmans DVD3500 / Grundig GDV620 annoying BUZZ from Woofer ?

Mine has a buzz as well but I can cope with it. I would be interested to hear how you got on returning it. Does the new one buzz. I think mine did from day one.

RE: Grundig GDV620HT DVD / Surround sound system

I have the Goodmans 3500pk which by the look of it and the price is the same machine. My woofer has a bit of a buzz. When I looked at it in Commet it sounded like it was going to be underpowered but once I got it home is is plenty loud enough. It will play DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD and mp3. I`m having a bit of trouble with the CDRs. It wont read some. No problem with CDRWs though.

I am still looking for a multi regeon hack. It anyone knows one for the Grundig or Goodmans please pass it on.

Thanks

Goodmans 3500PK

Recently bought a Goodmans DVD surround system for £200 from Comet inc speakers etc. Am very impressed. Plays DVD, VCD, SVCD, MP£, CD but not multi region yet.

Does anyone know the hack? I think it is based on an Aiwa system

Much thanks

Mark

RE: Goodmans 3500pk

Bought one at the weekend

Very impressed, especialy for £200 - (though I am no technical expert)

Plays DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD, MP3

In the shop it sounded like it was underpowered but at home it is plenty loud enough.

Easy to set up

I highly recomend it but I don`t know how to hack it yet so I can`t play my region 1 DVD`s yet.

Hope someone can help?

Mark
