RE: HELP!!! Multi Region hack for Pioneer DVD444S is there one???

The 444 can`t be hacked, but can have it`s firmware modded to make it multi-region. This needs to be done by someone in the know, but it can be done by connecting a PC to the back of the unit. Much better than soldering new chips in and stuff. Get it sent away to one of the above.

RE: Home Cinema Heaven - remarkable service!!!

Kingdom666 - It might be worth giving them a quick call. When my order hadn`t turned up after 5days, I contacted them, and was told my order had been `lost` - but they managed to get it to me the next day once I`d told them there was a problem.

RE: should i buy a pioneer dv444 or panasonic xv10......please help !......

Can`t fault my 444 - admittedly not a `heavy` user, so may not have had a chance to experience faults that others may have, but I wouldn`t change it.

RE: PIONEER 444 QUESTION......

Jason,

The 444 can be modded by altering the firmware - a process that can be carried out by conneting to a plug in the back, I believe. Good news, as the lid never has to come off, and there`s no dodgy soldering to have to worry about.

Got my unit from www.homecinemaheaven.com and I am very happy with it.

RE: help with pioneer dv 444

The multi-region code isn`t a `hack` that can be used at home. It is used in conjunction with a machine that has been `chipped` (or in this case had it`s firmware modified) - something that is done by a specialist.

RE: Help: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

www.ukaskew.co.uk have a series of 3 easter eggs for the movie so far - although I`ve only been able to access the Jason Mewes one so far.

RE: dvdepot.com - any good???

Used them an awful lot when I first got a DVD player. However last year (around christmas I think) a load of their orders went missing. Their customer service went out of the window (all sorts of excuses) - the upshot being that if an order went missing they were expecting customers to wait 7 weeks to see if it turned up, before despatching a replacement. I vowed never to use them again, but others seem to be more than happy with them.

RE: Pioneer 444 Cheapest Place??????????

I got mine from www.homecinemaheaven.com for £209 delivered. A mix up at their end meant it took a week to arrive, but otherwise I was very impressed.

The prices are much of a muchness, some of the cheaper ones need to have VAT added.

And if you want to go forward by time it`s accessed via the `search mode`, just look at page 38 of the instruction book!

RE: Which Amp to go for ???

Can`t fault my Yamaha RXV496 - would definately buy another one

RE: Is the Pioneer DV-444 the machine to buy?

Got my 444 last week from HomeCinemaHeaven, there`s a slight pasue on layer changes on occasion, but I can`t really fault it.

Very happy with the HCH mod as well - Macro free, auto & manual region changing. If you manually set the region to 1, then it auto selects region as necessary, but defaults to reg 1, playin RCE discs happily.

RE: Richer Sounds horror ...

Julian Richer, Richer Sounds PLC, Freepost, London, SE1 4BR.

Have had to contact him myself in the past. Got an apology back, although no compensation.

RE: SONY DVP-NS700V - MULTI REGION? WONT PLAY R1 - HELP!

The Sony was in the Mail on Sunday this week, described as a multi-region machine, from the manufacturers, so I`d keep digging around to see if a hack turns up at some point - or get a copy of the article and wave it around in your local Sony shop.
