anyone got a Sony TA-VE170

has anyone got a Sony TA-VE170 amp ? i believe it came with Sony HT-K170 home cinema kit.
my mate at work is selling it and i want to know what its like.

which av amplifier ?

lookin for a av amplifier to go with my panny e55.its to go in my small bedroom so will only be using rear speakers.
i don`t want anything too big,but slim like a dvd player.want to spend around £100.
i`m willing to buy off ebay and ex display models.would prefer simple set up with no remote.
any out there who can help ?

i`m confused,whats the difference between an amplifier and a av reciever ? i want to connect it to my pan e55 dvd recorder then add rear speakers.looking to get LCD tv soon so it must work with this.

now got the pan e55.which widescreen tv shall i buy.
been looking at philips 24pw6006 and 24pw6407 and a panasonic 24"
got £300 to spend.

which one shall i buy ?its got to be 24"

like you i wasn`t sure which one to go for between the 2.got advice from this forum so bought the pan e55.
had it 2 weeks now and its fantastic.i`ve been copying from vhs to dvd with ease.
buy the pan e55 !!

playing tape from video to av3 on pan e55

when i play a tape from a video recorder to my pan e55 using av3 on the front panel the picture is black and white.
the video is old and not been used for a long time,but has a scart on the back.i`m using a scart adapter with red-white-yellow and s(thingy) to connect it to the e55.
the reason i`m using the av3 is cause when i get rid of my tv/vid combi i want easy access to record old vhs tapes.
anyone any idea whats up ?

panasonic e55 has arrived !!!

at last, been saving up for the e55 for about 4 months and it came this morning from Peter Tyson (£240) at 11.00.
was a little nervous about setting up cause i`ve had a philips tv/video combi for about 6 yrs and totally forgot how to set up a video.
i connected it to my tv and ferguson dt2000 freeview box,turned it on,some set up to do and hey presto the picture was awful.
scratched my head a few times,then remembered the instruction manual,looked at it then realised you can set up the picture manual.
took a short time to do and the picture is now perfect.
can now record from my tv/vid combi and freeview with no problem,sound and picture are great and time slip is amazing.
i can recommened the e55 to anybody.
off to play with it now.

Can Lcd tv`s connect to speakers easily ?

want rear speakers for my bedroom.its only small so i have to have a lcd tv not a widescreen tv.can speakers be attached to the back of the lcd`s ??

ok, now i can`t attach speakers to my dvd recorder,i`m looking for a 24" widescreen tv where speakers can be attached to the back.
my bruv has a 28" widescreen panasonic tv where speaker wire just clips in at the back,and i want the same set up.
not looking to spend too much !

seting up tv and freeview with new dmr e55

about to buy dmr e55 how do i connect to my philips tv/video combi 20" with 1 scart and my ferguson fdt2000 freeview with 2 scarts.
saves time reading the instructions when i get it.

doesn`t matter now. went to the shop this morning (empire electricals in bradford) and it had sold out.the sales started yesterday and i didn`t read the advert till last night.
the price for the E60 was £200.they offered to sell me the E55 for £250 but i didn`t take it.

anyone know if their will be a dvd recorder with freeview ? looking to buy a panny e55 but i want to free space up in my room.would love to get a freeview tv but they only come in 28" and above.
anyone any idea`s ?

i want to watch vcd`s and record stuff to be played on other dvd players mainly.i`ve looked at panasonic,but had 3 philips tv`s in the last few years and happy with the make.

yeh i ordered 2 other football dvd`s at same time and they play ok.the picture when its plays on the dansai is like its breaking up but a chapter with still pictures on it is ok.
any other idea`s people ??

problem with liverpool fc official history dvd

hi,got the liverpool fc dvd this morning.its plays fine on my brothers xbox and my dvd laptop,but won`t play on a samsung 709 downstairs,it plays on my dansai 852 but the picture is awful.
the disc is clean.when played on my laptop it downloaded sofware called PCFriendly DVD software,could this be the problem ??
any other idea`s ??
