RE: SONY DVD NS300

The remote that can re-program the NS-300 costs £600 to the trade I am told by a friendy Sony Dealer.

On account of this he will get the machine "Chipped" rather than speculate on the £600.

Chipping.....by whoever.....or a remote costing 4xmore than the machine are the only options....I`m convinced.

RE: SONY DVD NS300

Am I right that 3 weeks on we are no nearer a "safe" hack for the Sony NS 300?

I think we`re looking for the Holy Grail here! and that the only way is to pay for chipping.

This is substantiated in many trade & A/V mags......Mr Sony knows a thing or two about protecting his market after all they are a major studio owner in Film & Music.

RE: SONY DVD NS300

Did you get a chance to try it as yet?

I`ve now heard exactly the same story as you outline from Sony.

It seems that it is a case of having to take the lid off and perform surgery.

I was quoted £50 and a quick turnaround. I`ll take a look at Techtronics too. Thanks

RE: SONY DVD NS300

I spoke to a fairly clued up Sony Dealer yesterday who said it was a £100 chipping job!..When pressed this came down to £55.

Needless to say I`m not putting my hand in my pocket as yet as I`m sure we can find an easier/cheaper solution.

No problem. I`ve also emailed a few dealers & Hifi/ A.V mags so hopefully we`ll get a breakthrough soon.

Hi

I read some of the replies you`ve had. Are you any closer to getting a hack as I would like to be able to do the same.

I can`t believe that its can`t be done with a simple code!

Thanks for replys mostly folk looking for the update to be passed on.

Sorry haven`t had it yet but will forward WHEN it comes to hand.

Mike
