HELP! Need hack for Philips DVD-707 (not with RC6)

I bought a Philips DVD-707 player, and it was multiregion at first, but last night when I came home, it only played region 4 dvd`s after an unsuccessful attempt of one of my kids to change the subtitles on a Region 1 disc. I assume he pressed every key on the remote, who knows. Thing is, it just plays region 4 now and I need it to be multiregion. I`ve seen the DVD-750 hack, yet I do not have a palm or a RC6. I was told there might be other ways to make it multiregion, with the player`s own remote, which was the one that turned it into region 4 only.

Please help. let me know if there is another way, other than the RC6, to make my dvd player permanently multiregion. (I do not live in the US, don`t know if the `one for all` remotes work the same everywhere, but I`d rather not buy one unless there is no other way.)
