RE: Philips DVD-711

Hi Brandy,
I have a philips dvd930 which used the same hack as your player.
It also locked after 25 changes. I talked to engineers at my work who inturn contacted philips in Einhoven, Holland. They informed me that it can only be unlocked by replacing the main prosessor, this would not be covered by my gaurantee. I got it changed anyway but this still didn`t solve the problem. In the end I had to pay to get the player chipped by a company advertised on the internet. This solved my region lock problem but unfortunatly didn`t turn the macrovision off. I solved this problem using a hack that required the use of a philips pronto remote control (about £250).
I hope this is helpful,
Regards Rick.
