hi there,
ive just bought a Pioneer P8DVD and it is locked to region 1..........is there a hack to make it multiregion?

u have to have a memory card or it just wont work m8.
also.....ive got a new ps2 like yourself and if it has the 2.10E drivers then u will have all sorts of problems.
i rang datel tech department (01785 810838) and to cut a long story short....i sent the disk back to datel themselves and they sent me out the latest version free of charge :O)
as for instructions:
boot up with a memory card in.
when the region select comes up.
click on the one u want (press x)
the tray will come out.
put in ure dvd.
it should then go to the browser screen where u`ll see a gold disk.
click on it(press x)
VOILA!!

ive now tried some region 1 dvds and they played without doing anything at all!! :O)
its also the biz at playing cdr vcd`s and cdr svcd`s...plays the lot and really well too.
