Can the Wharfedale 750 play region 4 when it has been remote hacked ??

All of the sites I have checked only mention regions 1 & 2.

I was gonna buy some DVDs from Australia so I was kinda needin` to know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Philips DVD 751. Yes or No ????

I have recently bought a wharfedale and It is pretty much the dogs danglers for the amount of cash that I parted with. BUT, I have recently heard that the Philips DVD 751 is a better machine which also has a software region hack , and that I should relegate the Wharfedale to the bedroom and Buy myself the Philips for the front room.

Firstly, Is the Philips a better machine?????
And secondly, if it is Hackable does anyone out there happen to know what the hack is????
My mate has a bit of a habit of talking s***e, but seems to know his home cinema gear.

Any Comments on the subject would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

RE: Wharfedale 750 - are there different revisions of this player?

Like I say, I bought mine last month through the Tesco mail order thing because I couldn`t get it at my local shop.
Jaws works fine but I still get the annoying problem of the Subtitles defaulting on where some other players bought around the time don`t.

RE: R2 Jaws problem with Wharfedale

RE: R2 Jaws problem with Wharfedale

I bought R2 Jaws and sleepy hollow at the weekend and both discs work perfectly on my Wharfedale.

All the menus worked perfectly, even the picture gallery wasn`t very slow.

sorry.

Wharfedale DVD 750 Subtitle and Audio track problems

OK. I recently bought a Wharfedale from tesco and the region 1 discs work fine, everything in that department s fine................
..............but, when a disc is loaded up the machine picks an audio track or subtitle setting at random. Not much of a problem, but annoying none the less when you just want to sit down and watch a disc.
Is there some sort of option I can change so that the player will default to no sub-titles and the default audio channel, or is my machine some how on the blink.
Any help would be great.

Cheers.
