I just bought one from After Hours for about £130 and it came in a box from amazon.co.uk with the invoice paid by After Hours, we now know who their supplier is.

What DVD player to replace my Pacific 750???

I just got a refudn on my Pacific 750 as it kept on pausing during playing DVDs.

I want to replace it for around £100 (will pay a little more for quality though) and get something that is multi region hackable, macro vision hackable and plays DVDs and VCDs.

What do you all suggest?

I would prefer something I can order online as I dont fancy traipsing round loads of stores trying to find a certain player in stock.

I get that problem with my 750 freezing every now and again, I have had 2 different ones but will just go in soon and get my money back. I like the idea of the Tosh 110 that has been recommended here.

So nothing else on sale at ASDA is any good then? They sell some other players I believe.

I think richer sounds have had deliveries of some of their cheaper players, are they worth it?

Pacific 750 faulty, what should I replace it with?

I am on my 2nd Pacific 750. The first paused every now and then during playback and it was annoying, I took it back and swapped for another one but it has the same fault. It is a pause a bit like the one you get on all dual layer discs but it happens about 10 times per movie and is very annoying.

I am going to take it back again and need advice, should I go for another 750 or perhaps another model that ASDA sell? Or should I get my money back and buy something else (if so then what do you recommend for under £100)? Any help appreciated. I would like a player that I could make multi region and macro free. I will mainly play DVDs but VCD capability would also be useful.

I exchanged my 750 for another one at ASDA and at first it seemed better but now about 1 hr 15 mins into a movie it starts freezing again. Is this a problem with my DVD media being scratched or is it a common problem of the 750?
What do you think I should do? Should I get my money back and go for another model at ASDA or should I get a Mico Classic from Sainsburys?

But does yours pause more than once per movie? Mine does! It does it every minute or so, surely its more than it being dual layer?

Pacific 750 pauses repeatedly during playback, help needed

My new Pacfic 750 from ASDA pauses when playing DVDs. It normally occurs about an hour into a film and once it starts happening it pause for a couple of seconds and then starts again and it does this every few seconds. Is this due to a dirty laser, a scratched DVD or is it a fault with the player?

I am a DVD newbie and only have 2 DVDs to test it with but it happens on both.

RE: Pacific 750...black & white???

I had that problem when connecting my 750 to the video. I pressed the VIDEO/Y button on the remote control a few times and one of the settings got the picture in colour.

I havent figured out why the playback keeps pausing when you play movies yet though, unless anyone has any ideas?

I went for the Pacific in the end so now need to hack the macro. I followed the instrcutions right up to the bit where you have to select `Enable or Disable`, how do I do this? Is the Enable and Disable options normally shown on the TV screen or on the front of the DVD player? If its the TV can someone tell me what to press to select disable??

I need help on hacking my Pacific 750, please help

I dont have a SCART TV (but its on my shopping list) but my VCR has a scart input socket so I was told if I hacked the macrovision I could plug the 750 into the VCR and then access the DVD on the TV.

I followed the instructions for the hack with no problems but when it gets to the stage where it says `Select Enable or Disable` I dont see anything. Is this because these options appear on the screen normally or do they appear on the front panel of the 750?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the comments so far. Obviously the newer TV option is the ultimate situation but funds cant stretch that far at the moment.

I notice that my video player has a scart socket, can I plug the DVD into the video and then the video to the TV in the normal manner?

I have been to ASDA and like the idea of either of these machines. Unfortunately my TV doesnt have a SCART socket, can I still use one of these DVD Players (or in fact any DVD player for that matter)?? If so what leads does in require and are they included?

As you have probably guessed I am a DVD newbie.
