RE: VCDs versus DVDs

So where are these naughty sites Biteman?? Just for information of course!

VCDs versus DVDs

I am a new DVD owner and have learnt loads from these pages already, but I have yet another question. I have a cheap dvd player (Pacific 1000) and have just managed to hack it to player multi region discs, but I wondered if anybody could tell me what VCDs play like in the Pacific (or any other player I suppose). I have found a site which sells cheap VCDs, but don`t really know a lot about them.

Are they similar quality to DVDs and what are the differences between VCDs and DVDs? Any info would be welcomed- I`m trying to build up and idoit proof guide to all things DVD.

Cheers,

Clueless

RE: Pacific dvd 1000

I`ve tried the handset hack supplied in this forum for the Pacific 1000 (open, 8421, ennter) but nothing seems to be happening. Am I doing something wrong? I turned the machine on, opened the tray, pressed 8,4,2,1 and enter.....but the display didn`t change. It just showed `open` as it would normally do. Can you offer any more help?

RE: Pacific dvd 1000

Anybody know a hack to make the Pacific 1000 multi regional? I don`t know a great deal about hacks, but have been told that there might be a handset hack for it.
