RE: Karaoke help

Thanks Biteman You are right, I have ££££s worth of CDGs and I have a player too (that can handle VCDs and CDGs) I would like a backup player that can play these discs and play DVDs too. I know it is asking for the moon but there again why not?

I believe that there is another format for Karaoke that is DVD based (holds many more songs but costs more for each disc) So maybe there is a player that can handle both.

RE: Karaoke help

Alas it is DVD video only. Thanks again

RE: Karaoke help

I will give them the once over

Thanks

RE: Schneider DVD 856 Karaoke ??

The answer is that there are several formats for Karaoke. Most of them are inconpatable with each other.

DVD Karaoke is popular on the continent.

CDG is popuar here. CDG is CD based and will play on any CD player. If you have a CDG player you get the onscreen graphics too. Often these players incorporate mic inputs too.

DVD Karaoke is basically a standard DVD of a song with the words playing infront of the picture.

You can buy both formats in this country but the DVD type is much harder to source.

If you are determined you can use your CDGs with your machine but you will have to add an external CDG decoder. This will probably cost more that your machine did originally.

PS Do you rate the Schneider as a DVD player?

Karaoke help

Does anyone out there know of a dvd player that will play CDG format discs as used by Karaoke players?

Many thanks in advance Mr B
